1976年、伝説的デザイナー ジェラルド・ジェンタがIWCのために設計した「Ingenieur SL Ref.1832」。通称“ジャンボ”と呼ばれる本モデルは、わずか598本のみが生産された希少な一本です。
2023年にはIWCが復刻モデルを発売し、再び大きな注目を集めました。さらに2025年には本Ref.1832に関する製作秘話『The Most Brilliant Failure』が公開され、同年に開始された認定中古プログラム「IWC. Curated.」では、目玉商品として1,019万4,800円で販売されました。歴史的評価は年々高まっています。
本個体は1977年にデリバリーされた最初期の個体で、Cal.8541Bを搭載した希少な仕様です。文字盤はサービスダイヤルに交換されていますが、当時の文字盤、針などのオリジナルパーツが付属します。2025年にはスイス本国にてコンプリートサービスを実施し、その際に真正証明書の取得も完了しています。

In 1976, the legendary designer Gérald Genta created the “Ingenieur SL Ref. 1832” for IWC. Commonly known as the “Jumbo,” this model is an exceptionally rare piece, with only 598 examples ever produced.
In 2023, IWC released a modern reissue, once again drawing significant attention to the model. Furthermore, in 2025, the production story of the Ref. 1832 was revealed in The Most Brilliant Failure. In the same year, under the newly launched certified pre-owned program “IWC. Curated.”, an example was offered as a highlight piece at JPY 10,194,800. Its historical significance and market recognition continue to grow year by year.
This particular example was delivered in 1977 and is an early production piece fitted with the rare Cal. 8541B movement. While the dial has been replaced with a service dial, the original dial, hands, and other period-correct parts are included with the watch. In 2025, it underwent a complete service at IWC headquarters in Switzerland, at which time an official archive extract was also obtained.
